Amanda took her first yoga class in college and vowed she would not return. After a few years, three knee surgeries and a suggestion from her doctor that she use yoga as part of her physical therapy routine, she returned to her mat in 2008, and found a new appreciation and love for yoga. She found a way to heal and nourish herself, find calmness and breathe. Drawing on both physical and mental strength, Amanda found that yoga is truly the integration of mind, body and spirit. It has taught her to release the stresses of everyday life, and to focus on being present in the moment.
Amanda completed her 200-hour teacher training at Yoga Flow in the spring of 2013 and continues her studies via workshops and continuing education trainings. She is registered with Yoga Alliance as an E-RYT and YACEP and is currently working to complete her 500-hour RYT certification through the Himalayan Institute. In addition to her regular classes, she serves as the director and lead instructor for Totally Yoga’s 200-hour, Yoga Alliance accredited, teacher training program.
When not on her mat you can find Amanda teaching Barre or Spin classes, in the ceramics studio, boxing, spending time with family and friends, at the park with her dogs or volunteering as a foster dog mama with Paws Across Pittsburgh and German Shorthaired Pointer Rescue PA! In addition to her yoga career, Amanda works full time as a Vice President-Embedded Control Manager within Financial Risk and Regulatory Oversight Management.
She looks forward to sharing her love and passion for yoga with others each and every day.
